Guest Talk by Dr.Sairam Bhat and Dr.V.Sudesh

Dr.SAIRAM BHAT

Dr. Sairam Bhat did his LL.M, and Ph.D from the Department of Law, University of Mysore. He was awarded the ‘Young India Environmental Law Fellowship’ and served as Adjunct Faculty in the year 2003 at Golden Gate University, California, USA. He was the ‘Editor’ of Kare Law Journal in 2005 and 2006. He has served as a ‘Visiting Researcher’ at the Georgetown University Law Centre Washington DC,during Aug-Dec. 2010. He was also a Linnaeus-Palme Academic Exchange Fellow at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, 2012-13. He has authored several books. Dr. Bhat’s areas of specialization include Contracts, Environmental Law, Constitutional Law and Right to Information Act.

Dr. Bhat was invited to the School of Law, Christ University to enlighten the students on ‘the Law of e-commerce’, in particular, ‘Jurisdictional issues with regard to e-commerce’. The session was not only informative regarding e-commerce but also created an awareness on various issues like: Accepting terms and conditions in an e-contact, Jurisdiction with regard to national e-commerce transactions, jurisdiction with regard to International e-contracts, Consumer redressal agencies, Alternative Dispute resolution mechanisms etc… The session was an interactive one. Dr. Bhat also answered various queries that the students raised.


Dr. V. Sudesh
Dr. V. Sudesh is the head of P.G Department of the University Law College, Bangalore university, J Nana Bharti Campus, Bangalore.

The guest lecturer provided the students an overview about Commercial Arbitration and briefed as about the Arbitration & Conciliation Act. The lecture dealt with the arbitration, various kinds of arbitration, and their advantages & disadvantages.
